I should‘ve known by now that I am probably addicted to pain and suffering and tears running down my face when I was so eager to read another book from Fredrik.
And Fredrik made sure of that by the fact that I actually cried in almost every chapter.
Especially this, This was brutal,
Children know hardly anything about their parents, even if they live with them their whole lives. Because all we know about them is as moms and dads, nothing about who they were before that. We never saw them young, when they still fantasize about all the things that could happen, instead of regretting all the things that never did.
However, I must admit that there were actually some parts where I felt like they could be maybe shortened? I didn‘t have this feeling with Anxious People, where I was so not excited to finish it because it was so good though. But this one? At some point I actually felt like I had to read x1.5 to get over with it.

Read some reviews here that said they cried through the last 9%. Oh man, I already cried mid way.
Incredible work again from TJR, absolutely love her writing, though i found some parts bit boring — kinda had to endure to get to better, more interesting bits. still, really really nice cry.
Can‘t believe i acc felt this much grief for fictional astronauts after finishing this book. The women in this book were incredible in such a way that made me realize how hard it was being a woman back then. I understood both side of Joan and Lydia. I felt the rage whenever fights between Joan and Barb came to play and gosh, the conversations between them just felt so real. TJR really never disappoints you on this one.
So, my fav is still Evelyn Hugo (mind you i only read two from hers).

Didn‘t remember the last time I felt so strongly reading a book until i brought up this one. This was so brutally written that it made my heart arch to the point where i had to give myself a break and stare blankly into the air.
Once again, this kind of book made me wonder how much pain Han Kang (or any other great artists) must‘ve been through to write such a wonderful piece.
This book is for sure not for everyone.

Read during my depression episode and went completely downhill lol overall it’s quite addictive. One thing that kinda annoyed me was that the word “beam” was used a lot

I laughed. I cried. Touched on so many aspects of life. Life, death, depression, parenting and everything else that made me appreciate life more than I did before I read it.
